Duck and Cover

Out for a fall hike at one of my favorite places.

Seemed like a nice day. Lots of fall colors. Warm temps. Beautiful day.

Then, oh no! Its a huge explosion! We're under attack! What's happening???!!!!!!!

Oh, never mind. It's just a cloud. Silly!

Summertime

Took a trip to visit some family, and here's a couple random shots taken during the trip. Just looking for something a little different to shoot.

Vietnam Wall

The travelling Vietnam Wall came through town. It's quite an impressive and large wall. There are a LOT of names on that wall, all the Americans who gave their lives fighting that war. The reasons for that war are for another discussion, but its a sobering sight.

Along with the Vietnam Wall, were additional rememberances for additional conflicts like the Korean war, Desert Storm and more. Displays of other memorabilia, military photos, flags, and much more.

Depotized

Visited the Train Depot again for Depot Days. Had pretty nice weather, a few clouds always make the shooting better. Here's a couple shots from the day.

 The side of a weathered old brick building downtown. That's some pretty old advertising.

 American flag, looking a bit weathered, rusted and run down. Kinda like the country currently, thanks to the geniuses in Washington and their 'comrades'. But I won't go on a political rant...

A restored Union Pacific passenger window car. A great way to see the countryside as it rolls by.

Sharp Edges

Went to a annual glass art show. Has all kinds of things created by local artists, some just for display, some for sale. Everything from blown glass to sculptures to leaded glass to other forms of art. Took a number of photos, these are 3 different cropped examples of framed leaded glass art like stained glass windows.

I don't know how to do it, but you can certainly make some pretty nice items if you know how!

 

The most colorful of these shots, some dark red and yellow with the blue and clear colors.

 

Kinda reminds me of an Art Deco look.
